Taveuni vs Savusavu: Where Should Tourists Visit
Taveuni is a lush, eco-adventure paradise best suited for nature lovers, hikers, and scuba divers. It features dense rainforests, dramatic jungle waterfalls like Tavoro Falls, and world-class diving at the famous Rainbow Reef.
In contrast, Savusavu (located on the neighboring island of Vanua Levu) is a charming, laid-back coastal town with a picturesque bay that appeals to yachties, wellness seekers, and travellers looking for a bit more local town life, harborside dining, thermal hot springs, and boutique luxury resorts.
In short, choose Taveuni if your priority is rugged, pristine wilderness and premier soft-coral diving, or choose Savusavu if you prefer a relaxed small-town vibe paired with scenic bay waters and accessible amenities.
