Tambua Sands Beach Resort is all about that classic, barefoot beach vibe along Fiji’s Coral Coast on Viti Levu. No extended boat ride or flight from Nadi airport required.
The adults-only resort has detached huts with a private plunge pool to enjoy a floating breakfast with the ocean on the horizon. And now imagine this scenery with the sounds of coconut leaves bristling in the breeze while you sip on your morning coffee or mimosa.

Tambua Sands offers floating breakfast where the meal is served on a floating tray and includes tropical fruit, pastries, juice, coffee, and other island-inspired selections. The experience costs FJD$89 per person.
Guests can also request additional food and beverages, dietary accommodations, romantic touches, and arrangements for special occasions at an additional cost. To me this is a worthy tiny splurge especially for an anniversary or a honeymoon to relight the flame of love.
Private Beachside Accommodation
Instead of standard hotel rooms where you can hear your neighbours, you’ll stay in cozy, traditional-style bungalows (bures) scattered among lush greenery away from other bures and sounds muffled by swaying coconut leaves and clashing waves. Considering the detached rooms, adults-only resort together with a private pool, the price is a steal in my opinion. You’d be spending hundreds of USD more in Mamanuca and Yasawas for these three ticked checkboxes.
Each bure comes stocked with tea and coffee setups, hair dryers, and basic toiletries so you have everything you need to feel comfortable.
Tambua Sands is quite isolated which is a good choice if you plan a long stay but if you intend to resort hop, I would recommend 3-nights at Tambua Sands, 2-nights at Marriot Momi Bay then 3-nights at Denarau where you have the option to go beyond and explore Mamanuca/Yasawa on day trips or guided snorkeling.

Things to do at Tambua Sands
How you spend your days is completely up to you with various activities and amenities provided. You lounge along the private stretch of beach or float in the freshwater outdoor pool. Join in on a game of beach volleyball, shoot a round of pool, or try table tennis and darts.
While the resort feels peaceful and secluded, you are located near Sigatoka to explore local highlights like Cave & Fijian Village Tour, Sigatoka River Safari, Sigatoka River Cruise, Navua River Tubing and Sigatoka Sand Dunes.
There’s an on-site currency exchange, an excursion desk, car rentals, and a local souvenir shop so planning your day trips is stress-free.
Is Tambua Sands right for Honeymooners?
Tambua Sands Beach Resort is a hidden gem for honeymooners who want an intimate, coconut plantation vibe Fijian getaway without the bustling crowds of a massive family resort. Because it’s an adults-only resort in Coral Coast, you get to spend your days relaxing in private cozy beachfront bures with the beach just feet from your door.
You can float in the plunge pool having a floating breakfast, have fresh seafood dinners by the water, and taking quiet sunset walks along the Coral Coast. There are activities outside the resort too as mentioned above. The river safari is a must-do for adrenaline loving couples or just take a casual river cruise instead.
Tambua Sands can be book via Agoda, Expedia, Klook, Booking.com and Trip.com (get up to 20% for first time bookers).
Tambua Sands Resort vs Shangri-La Yanuca Island
Tambua Sands Beach Resort with 25 beachfront bures is smaller and low-key without family crowds unlike Shangri-La Yanuca Island which is a massive private island resort packed with high-end amenities, multiple fine-dining restaurants, an oceanfront spa, and a dedicated adults-only wing with its own infinity pool.
It gives a more polished megaresort vibes and opposite of the intimate barefoot beachfront coconut plantation vibe Tambua Sands has going. Tambua Sands is cheaper than Shangri-La so choose this if you have a strict budget.
Tambua Sands Resort vs Warwick Coral Coast
Warwick, similar to Shangri-La has a traditional resort feel. Warwick is one of the most popular child-friendly resort in the Coral Coast whereas Tambua Sands is adults-only. However, while Tambua Sands has one restaurant, Warwick has 5 restaurants including Japanese and Itlatlian cuisine. Overwater dining is available at Wicked Walu.
Some other advantages of Warwick is that you can play tennis, hit the gym, get treatments at the oceanfront spa, and swim at the adults-only pool while families stick to the main lagoon pool. Choose Warwick if you have an active lifestyle to enjoy the sports amenities. Tip: tourists do go for morning walks along the main road outside Warwick.
