If you only have time for one boat trip during your trip to Fiji, make sure it’s a full day out in the Mamanuca Islands. You’ll swim, snorkel and explore Mana Sand Bar, Monu Cove and Modriki (Monuriki) Island while enjoying authentic Fijian hospitality.
Instead of staying anchored off one beach all day, this 8-hour adventure takes you island-hopping through the picturesque Mamanuca Islands. This is one of the more fun island-hopping day trips in Fiji honestly. Very stimulating perfect for ADHD travelers.

You’ll feast on a fresh, traditional Fijian lovo lunch cooked right on board by the local crew, complete with complimentary cold beer and wine. Snacks, seasonal fruit, juice, soft drinks, and water are also on tap all day to keep you refreshed for this Mamanuca day trip.

What You’ll Do
Your first major stop takes you out into open water to explore private sandbars and shallow reefs including spots near Mana Island. Because smaller boats can navigate where larger vessels can’t, you get to snorkel in calm, clear water filled with vibrant coral and marine life, often without another tour group in sight.
Next is a cruise past the dramatic cliffs of Monu Island. The boat pulls into a stunning deep-water cove surrounded by high green peaks. It’s an incredible backdrop for photos and a refreshing spot to jump straight off the side of the boat into deep turquoise waters of the Mamaucas.
For many travelers, the main star is landing on Modriki Island (also spelled Mondriki). This uninhabited paradise is where the movie Cast Away starring Tom Hanks was filmed. You’ll have plenty of time to stroll the empty white-sand beach, explore the island’s interior, and snap photos for social media. Don’t forget to say “cheeese”.
