Shark Diving, Snorkeling, and Culture in Barefoot Kuata Island Resort

1. Snorkeling and Diving with Fiji Sharks

Barefoot Kuata runs dedicated shark welfare programs. You can book a snorkeling excursion or take a dive to see reef sharks up close. No scuba certification is required for their introductory shark dives, making it accessible to absolute beginners.

2. All Tide Swimming

Many islands in Fiji suffer from dramatic low tides that pull the water hundreds of meters away from the shore. Barefoot Kuata features a unique white-sand beach layout that permits excellent swimming and shore-accessible snorkeling at both high and low tides.

3. Authentic Fijian Culture

Because the resort is built in partnership with the local indigenous mataqali (landowners), the cultural experience is entirely genuine. The resort maintains a small footprint, avoiding large-scale commercialism. The local staff ensures a warm, personal environment where travelers are embraced as family.
