Fiji’s underwater world is as diverse as its islands. To make the most of these iconic dive sites, choosing the right “base camp” is essential, as some sites are only accessible from specific regions.
For many foreign scuba divers, you’ll be arriving in Fiji through Nadi Airport then onto local islands such as Taveuni and Kadavu. Getting to these islands requires a domestic flight which flies a couple of times per week from Nadi. However, if you can’t connect your domestic flight in time it’s best to stay in a hotel near Nadi airport for a night to refreshen up from jetleg. After all, you’d want to be in the best physical shape and strength when scuba diving.
I would recommend to stay a couple of days in Denarau or Wailoaloa and hop onto a day trip to the Mamanuca Islands for some snorkeling then onto other islands with more hardcore scuba diving spots.
While some diving resorts are mentioned in the Hotel Booking page, here are the top 10 scuba diving sites in Fiji, expanded with the best resorts to stay at for each diving site in Fiji:
1. The Great White Wall (Somosomo Strait)
